I have a 1066 that is stuck in low. I can't shift to neutral and if I try reverse the tractor bogs down like the brake is on. the range selector is actually at neutral position but over reverse if that makes sense. Is there a trick to fixing this or a shift fork possibly out of alignment?

Thanks!
-Tim

Well since i have been screwen off most of the day and just now getting on here , let start at the top first Pull the rt side cowel by the shifter and see if the littel tie rod came off or if ya just shifted to fast and it jumped out on the shifter . Next do like allen said and fallow the long rod down from the top to the coupler and check and see if ya sheared the pin as this SHOULD be a tappered Groved pin But over time and reapirs to T/A's sometimes people use roll pins they hold for awhile but after time they fail. or work out . Now if ya find NOTHING then son you's in for a heap of work.

I forgot to mention that I also cannot engage the parking brake. Thanks for the information and I will check on the pin.

Pull that center cover in front of the transmission fill and the right hand sound deadener panel (cab models) or the right hand battery (open station models).

Follow the range linkage down and you'll find there's a rollpin (which is probably sheared) down on the right hand side just before it drops in the box.

Can't remember if there is a roll pin where this lever connects to the shaft going into the transmission or not. Tr Vet will probably help you out.

Thank you for all the suggestions. It ended up being the U shaped guides up near the levers. For some reason they are sliding out of position. All the other info is good though in case it ever gets more involved.
