Howdy, Boys: I am not a big movie fan anymore. In fact, the older I get the less likely I am to be pried from my "strato-lounger" to go out into the night. But, I was wondering if any of you know of any films with good footage of Farmall tractors? Example: The movie "Tootsie" with Dustin Hoffman; there was a scene at a farm where Charles Durning was driving "Dorothy Michaels" (Dustin Hoffman) around the farm. I think it was an "M", although it could have been an "H".
Anyone know of any other good scenes from other films out there???

Man on the Moon

Made my wife cry, at the end the boy in the story falls off the back of an M (?) and is run over by the disk he's pulling.

Here are a couple...

A Farmall M--in the movie Hannibal at the wild boar farm in Italy. You can only see it from the front but it looks like an M to me.

A newer IH....in Days of Thunder disking a field...Harry Hogg is workin er out.

The recent movie about the life of Johnny Cash showed him driving a (at that time) new Oliver Super 88.

In the movie "A Christmas Story" there was a Farmall pulling a float in the Christmas parade.
The kid wanted a Red Ryder BB gun. "You'll shoot your eye out"!

"It says "FRAGILE" must be Italian"

If I remember correctly there was a Farmall in the movie "Twister", it was either a 460 or 560. I saw it on display in Universal Studios a few years ago, man did she look beautiful for going through a twister. :)

Now that you mention it there were several in twister and combines flying through the air. I remember cussing about ruining all those red tractors.

I know there were numerous tractors in the movie, but I remeber that outside the "Twister" ride there were two tractors, some green one and a 460 that was in absolutely perfect shape. Mainly because they had no limit to how much the could spend on that tractor.

Check out" In The Heat of The Night" They walk into a dealership, and in the background a mechanic is working on a big Red and White. I don't remember what model it was, but, it was brand new and shiny.

You're right. The town mayor is the IH dealer, and a couple of scenes take place there, with new IH 806 and 1206 tractors, and some other implements in the background.

The movie Coward of the County with Kenny Rogers had 3 or 4 old M"s in it. I saw a vidio one time Lynn Anderson had made and she was driving a 400 Diesel.

Vandals burned down the bridges. Could have been driving a 4020.

Mike, I was teasing about the 4020, but vandals really did burn the bridges in 2002 I think.

Not a movie, but the older Walker Texas Ranger scenes during the theme song had what I thinks (memory loss here) was an H.

Mike, I just remembered seeing one on Mayberry RFD sometime. It was a 756 or something like it. I may have seen this in the Wisconsin Historical Societies Archives. Not sure.

In Flags of our Fathers there was one scene with what looked like a really rusted Farmall A, but it could'he been an AC. It was to rusted and I didn't get a long enough shot to tell the difference. -David Goode Coggon, IA

I saw a nice H on a movie while back. I don't know the name of the movie. It was something the wife was watching on one of those channels for women (Hallmark I think). They had a nice shot or two of it as they buried a dead cow or horse or something. I also noticed a Farmall of somekind on the oridinal Cujo movie, about that rabid ST. Bernard. There was a couple in Ode to Billy Joe. There is a few more, but I can't think of them.
