I have an International 240 Utility and am confused by the replacement water pumps I have found. I cannot find any that look like the one that is currently on my tractor. It has the pully that is cone shaped with the fan attached to the end of the pully. Can anyone help me to find a source for this replacement part?

Took the advice and found a Case/IH dealer about 45 min from me. Had the pump I needed and all the gaskets and hoses. Spent the afternoon swapping the parts and I'm back in business!!

Had I not had the suggestion to contact an IH dealer, I may not have thought of it myself.

Thanks!

Try Messicks, 1-877-260-3528. If they don't have a pump the water pump service package (part # 367708R91 should get you going. David.

Have you checked with your Case-IH dealer? The pumps used on the 240 were different than the ones used on Super C, 200, and 230. Most aftermarket companies don't stop to consider that there may be a difference, and won't hesitate to sell you the wrong part. You might even see if you can get just the bearing, seal, and impeller. Not hard to rebuild, if you've got a press.

The problem is I don't know where to get parts locally. I have had the tractor for a couple of years now and nothing major has gone wrong with it. Simple things like wires, plugs, fluids, and ignition parts. I started leaking water from behind the fan inside the pully. The pump I got here from Yesterdays is definately the wrong one even though it said it would fit the 240 and my S/N was correct with the C123 gas engine.

YT is a great site, but I have had similar experiences ordering parts from them. Same with ebay. Do you have a Case-IH dealer near by? You'd be surprised at what they can get for these older tractors, and really aren't much more expensive than the aftermarket. Nice thing about getting a part from the dealership is that you can see it for yourself before you write the check. If the parts guys can't help, talk to the service manager. They should be able to rebuild your old pump. Just a matter of pressing it apart, pressing in the new bearing/shaft, replacing the seal, pressing on the new impeller, and pressing the hub onto the shaft.
