I just putrchased a 1952 Farmall Cub. When looking up the serial number (46681) it appears to be a 1948. Which I like better as this is a restortion project. Am I missing something or is the FCUB, as it says on the serial plate, different than a CUB. I noticed that people are registering their CUBS and FCUBs on YTMag.

Thanks.

FCUB is the model, just like FBK is an M. Over the years people just lost track of what year their tractor was, or lied about its year to make it seem newer and therefore worth more. The guy I bought my 49 cub from swore up and down it was a 57, even when shown the serial numbers, thats what he was told when he bought it, so to him its a 57.Found the owner who had it before him, he admited he told him it was a 57 without knowing, but his dad had told him he "thought" it was a 57.

Checked the casting code and it is an R. That totally verifies that it is a 1948. I bought this CUB from a lady whose dad owned it. I am guessing that 1952 may be the year he bought it and the rest is history.

Thanks for you reply.
