I was wondering what a Super M, MD and a Super MD
was equal to on a JD letter series.

I think they are more than a 60. More like G/70.

G/70 maybe. Not 720/730. Dad had a 730, neighbor had a 560. They were comparable.

Nope SM would not run with 70 but it would outdo 60 when they were factory fresh.

I have both and I feel that the Super M can run with a 70, no problem. Now if you're talking diesels, then it's the 70 but on gassers, the Super M can do as much and do it as easily as a 70.

Back in early sixtys Dad had a G and SM and drivers were always yakking about which one had more power, one day when Dad was out of town they tried the old (dangerous) tie them together back to back rountine. Every time they pulled the G would bark and drag the SM off know this is really no indication of what they would do with plow but at least in this case the G had more dead pulling power.
