well he's asking 4 grand.... should i buy??? these are getting alot harder to find as collectors snatch them up! it runs and the oil on the ground is coming from the govner. plus the rear hydrolic cylinder leaks a little. it has the "X6" code behind the serial number. it has all 1948 cast codes. there are codes that instead of "R" they simply put 48! she runs and clutch is good. i have seen them sell much higher other places. i'm in southern minnesota and you don't see to many of them here.... what do you guys think?

Johnny, Haven't seen a note that you bought the MV. If you don't, let me know. I'm not too far away. Thanks. DH

Need HELP PLEASE, this is the wrong spot for this but didn't know where to start. My Dad died in Jan/07 and left my 86 year old Mom with a Farmall A tractor serial FAA 111861. I need help to know how much to ask for it, and where best to sell it. Is this one of the rare ones? I don't know anything about tractors.....need all the help I can get. Was told the back tires are new. Thanks so much! The tractor is in Clarence Center, N.Y.

Jeanette: The A is not a rare Farmall at all. How much to ask for it? That is like saying, "How much is a used car worth?" Depends on a lot of things. From $200 to $2,000. We would need a lot more information than what you have provided thus far.

I now have pictures of the Farmall A serial FAA 111861 and it runs like a charm! It's only gently used in the last 55 - 60 years on 2.3 acres and my guess is that Dad always stored it in the barn. I have quite a few attachments...but don't have those pictures yet. Need to cut the grass away around them first. Send inquiries to cdnpride@aci.on.ca or call 905-773-0571. Thx Jeanette It's go to the best offer and so far that's $1,000.

OK...what other info do you need to help access the value? Then I will ask some neighbors to help answer them. I live in Toronto Canada so have to rely on my Mom's neighbors to help but none are tractor experts. One neighbor is charging the battery so we can see if we can get it started. I want to get it out of the barn to take a photo outside. I'm just learning how to use this web site. I hope you get this return reply. Thanks so much for your help...it's SO appreciated!!!

I just paid 3000 for a Stage II SH. Good running, WF, work clothes, fenders, PTO shield, tired tires. Have seen two of them sell at auctions nearby in the past two months for 3400 and 3800, no fenders, narrow fronts. So the buy in price is steadily creeping up. 4000 isn't hig for that tractor. Just make sure it's what you really want. DOn't make the mistake of getting it home and then seeing something else you would rather have.

Man is that thing tall! Does it come with the optional parachute? hehehehehe! I met a guy at the King Tractor Auction in Huntington IN a 8-10 years back who bought a bunch of HV and MVs.I think he lived just a few miles south of Huntington. I wish I had paid attention to what he paid. they were all restored and nice and it seems to me he dropped around $2000-2500 each but like I say it was 8-10 years ago. He hired me to haul the HVs, the Mvs were a bit too heavy and wide for my trailer. I hauled at least 4 HVs for him that weekend.

Your decision. I am not a fan of high crops, though. If you restore it you will spend another $4-5000. X6 means it has a low speed first gear, if you don't already know.

I'm no letter series expert but $4,000 for a running MV is a darn good deal judging by what little I have seen of them rarities.
