I am trying to find the age of my dad's old FARMALL (IH) cub tractor? The serial number, I think, is 251428. Can you please help.

Thank you,

Kevin,
There is a way to read the casting codes and determine when the parts were cast. If all the codes are pretty close that will tell what year model it is. Maybe someone else can help more about casting codes, I don't know much about them. Also, look on the engine below the #1 spark plug. I think there is a flat boss with the serial # stamped there. This will help as long as the engine is original. You may also search the archives for "casting date" may help out. Good luck, let us know what you find. Fireman
