The TA has been going and the clutch sliping on my 706 . It quit moving altogether the other day and I`m fixing to replace and repair . Anyone with a few words of wisdom or shortcuts . I`ve split smaller utility tractors but nothing this big .

Make sure you have good stands, you can remove the tank and steering column all at once if you have hoist, you can split at engine then at rear of TA you will have to move rear end back about the length of TA housing because of PTO shaft. After you remove the MCV valve on left side there are three tubs you need to remove before you can disassemble the TA. You should get a manual.

I`ve got the IT manual and it seems to walk ya through pretty good . Can a guy buy the parts and rebuild the TA himself instead of buying a rebuilt unit ??
