The tractor is a 1950 "M". On the rear axles, mounted on the square vertical rear side where the fenders attach, is a rocker with a 2" ball on the bottom outside. The top of the piece has a slot with a cross hole through the ears. I suspect this is for a mounted picker but really have no idea what they are for. What are they really for?

You guessed right, its the rear pivot for a 2MH IH mounted corn picker, I used to set-up & deliver these animals when new. Was not a short job, we got them in on RR cars, and mounted them on the customers tractors. It would take 3-4 days to completely set-up so the farmer could drive it home.

Thanks Jim! I forgot to include the IH part#- 582001R1, below that, N-N. I've never seen a mounted corn picker installation, only while working. We had a pull-type picker, and before that, a team of Morgan's. Nowdays I buy corn. Corn prices prohibit buying new equipment for a small operation.
