I HAVE A 424 THAT WORKS GREAT, BUT SLOW WITH HYDRAULICS, IT TAKES ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO DUMP BUCKET OR LIFT IT , BUT IT IS STRONG. THE FLOW CONTROL VALVE MAKES NO DIFFERANCE ...MY QUESTION IS SINCE THE FLOW CONTROL IS UNDER THE SEAT AND BUILT INTO THE TRACTOR, HOW BAD A JOB IS IT TO GET TO? I THINK THIS MUST BE THE PROBLEM IVE CLEANED FILTER AND CHANGED HY-TRAN TWICE AND THE BUCKET VALVES ARE NEW. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS ALL....

You have cleaned the filter and changed your Hy-tran twice. Now have you re-primed the hyd system?

JON I DID ADD THE LOADER TO THE TRACTOR . IT NEVER HAD ONE, I BOUGHT THE VALVE AND HOOKED IT UP MYSELF,, I PUT THE LOADER AND BUCKET UP AND DOWN MANY TIMES AND THEN ADDED HY-TRAN TO THE HOLDING TANK AS NEEDED,

Well, you might have filled the lines on the loader with oil and got out most of the air.But you did not re-prime the hyd system, with the discription you just gave me.Currently your hyd system is air bound,by adding the new valve and since adding oil because the system was to low to handle the loaders needs.

There are several things that could have happened. You either changed the Hyd oil or added a large amount hyd oil or cleaned the metal in-line strainer or added a new valve or even removed or drained any hoses, especially the power steering if so equipped. The easiest or fastest solution as i do here in my shop....back the tractor up onto the beaver tail of the trailer or steep incline so the rear end is higher than the front end. Then ,if this tractor is equipped with a loader use the hyd down pressure of the loader to raise the frontend of the tractor.... keeping in mind the rear end of the tractor still needs to be higher. You will need to work the 3pth up and down several times bleeding out the air, then by turning steering wheel completely around back in forth in both directions several times to bleed those lines if so equipped the p/s.Then ,by that time let the front end down ,still keeping the tractor on the encline and work the loader up and down. This will allow good oil flow to the system and will re-prime the hyd system.Hopefully this will solve your problem if not... Please email me

PLID,I have the same problem with my 424, although more like 10-15 sec to lift or dump. I am also getting a whine from the hydraulics, maybe from the relief valve--so I am told. I had the supply to the loader hooked up to the line that goes to the power steering at first, and the loader worked great(fast), but I had no power steering. So we are living with the slower speed and the noise. Are you using half inch hoses? Volume is speed in the hydr system.

Like Plid,I'm assuming you have either changed or added hy-tran...and you have cleaned the filter. Now,doing either one of those tasks the hyd system has loss its prime. The whine you are hearing is the hyd pump, there is not enough oil flow to the pump. The loader works and not the power steering. If this was my tractor its telling me the system needs priming.Have you already primed the hyd system?

Did you replace the filter in the suction line? It is under the seat on my 444.
