I don't own a 560 and am just speaking from general experience/knowledge. The bearings are pressed into the end of the axle tube. You will most likely need to pull the rear axle, pull the axle out of the axle tube, and then you can get at the bearing. On the older letter series tractors you can get to the bull gear retaining bolts by removing the pto. Not sure about the 560. Someone on this board should be able to give you specific instructions. At any rate it is going to take a little work. Remember that safety is priority one.

Get rid of the tractor, the 560 and 460 is what put IH on the downslide.

Talk to anyone who either sold or had to drive and work on those tractors back in the day.

According to my father, who worked for Harvester during that time, they could not ship out rearends fast enough to the dealerships.

His quote"Those piles of crap would promise you more and give you less everyday."

Thank goodness for the 06 series.

hey eddie
ur right except for one thing, tht 06 series were a hard shifting SOB, I put 56 series shifters on many of those old binders.
TO talk about something on the down side, the 06 were behind there times. after deere made the powershift 4020 nobody could technologically catch up to them to this day, plus everbody copied them on some level, heres a good question for ya if an 06 is so great whats there resale value now a days compared to a 4020???? or an 66 series compared to a 4020, The last good tractor made before a 460/560 was a 450 then they never made a really great tractor till a MAGNUM but it took another company to do that, a 66 is a lot better than an 86 to work on and to drive
DEERE IS STILL THERE OWN COMPANY FOR A REASON
