I have a I.H. TD-18 that will not allow me to switch from starting on gas to diesel. The lever binds so it wont change. Any one ever run into this problem before. Externally every thing is ok, so I thought I'd ask before I start to tear it down. Thanks

The linkage on the backside of carburetor will also cause this. The lever on the float shut off can go over center and cause it to bind up.

Take the top cove off. More than likely, the gear mesh is binding or something in the gears. If not, could be one of the starting valves stuck. You didn't say what position it is stuck in. I assumed it is in the diesel mode. You should be able to see the problem whan you get the cover off.
