Does anyone know where the cover/bolt is to add oil to the transmission/rear end? I have been told it is on the top around the seat and that I have to take out two bolts around the axle and when the two lower bolts start to overflow it will be full of oil. I was wondering if anyone knows the exact location or a picture on the net of where the bolt is to add oil. I have looked but I don't think I have found it. Also what type of oil should I use.

willy, i dont know if this will help you or not. you say its a 404 international. ok, on the 404 farmall the fill for the tranny is located near the gear shift. it takes, i think a 3/4 square drive to remove it.

in the rear left of the tranny case on the 404 farmall, there is a small plug, 1/4 inch drive. this is the fill level of the tranny. just add fluid from the top till it runs out the little plug in the back..

like i say, this is for a 404 farmall. i dont know if the 404 international is the same or not.
take a look. it might be the same.
