Considering buying a 656 utility. The engine seems to run rich, carb has an electric solenoid on the bottom. Can the mixture still be adjusted?

How are these engines on fuel economy?

Thanks in advance- I appreciate the help!!

I have a Farmall 656 and it burns about 2.5 gal/hr doing light work. Mine is a row crop but the the mechanics of the two tractors are pretty much identical.

the electric solenoid is just a fuel shut off when the ignition switch is off. fuel adjustments will still be made on the carb. my 656s are used mainly for loading and feeding, so don't get used hard. they still use some gas but its livable.
