my 656 trany lock up ,pulled the top plate and got it unlocked but now the left rear wheel is locked. the right one will turn freely but the left won't move. any ideas on what it could be ????Thanks

Brian: The first place I would look is bull gear and pinion shaft and gear that drives the bull gear. That pinion shaft being the same shaft as the brake shaft. Probably the quickest thing right now would be take brake apart, the problem could if your lucky be right there. If your brakes are worn to point where the caliper opens too far your brake could be on and will not release. That is quite easy and economical to do. It might be differential but I doubt it.

What were you doing when it locked up, pulling, puttering around?

I wonder if a metal fragment is lodged in a critical area. . .

i was just putting around . the trany has lock up before and was easy to unlock but the rear is locked up on the left . the trany is unlocked nowand the left rear is locked.
