My 1947 Farmall M has a lever mounted on the left side of the steering post just under the light bar which engages the belt pulley. The design is similar to the M&W Gear Company PTO lever which is also on the tractor. Does anyone know who made this. I've been around a lot of H's and M's and have never seen another. It was useful when my dad had a #24 2-row picker mounted on the tractor. The #24 was driven by a chain and sprocket bolted where the belt pulley usually mounted. Any help?

We had one also worked good with the same picker you had. Dont know who made them. Also had a handy lever for brakes. Had one on the pto too. Did lots of custom work in these days. The pto was on the right side beside the seat and under it.

Comments about that brake lock lever you mentioned. I recall one that a neighbor had that consisted of a small lever mounted with one of the transmission cover bolts that pushed down on the front end of the brake lock "flipper" when you pulled up on wire which was attached to the light bar. I don't know if the neighbor made it himself or if it was an aftermarket IH item. The second kind I've seen is a rod held in place at two transmission cover bolt locations that appears to be activated by your left foot. Those are seen occcasionally on eBay and advertised as an IHC part. They usually go for $60-$90! Also on eBay frequently is a new brake locker lever for H's and M's (made differently) similar to the first type I mentioned.
