I recently purchased the complete lift all hydraulic system for my H, all the clearences in the pump are good and the pump makes 800 psi at idle.

My question is how the built in valve works, I know that the preasure port is on the right side and to the back, but the other 2 ports that are plumed together what do they do?? are they return ports??

Thanks Tim

The lift-all system is a one-way hydraulic setup. The 3 ports are all output ports, there is no need for return ports. The 3rd one closest to the rear of the tractor has delayed lift feature. This was used when a cultivator was mounted in front and on the back of the tractor. When you got to the end of the row, the front cultivators would raise first, then the rear.

See www.farmall-h.com for a better explaination.

If you want double-acting hydraulics, you can plumb a hydraulic spool valve(3-way controls- up, down, and hold) into one of the lift-all output ports. Then run a return line to the lift-all tank's drain plug to complete the setup.
