I am thinking about buying a Swartz wide front from Denny's carb shop. Are these good units and do they come with rims, and will my tire/wheels from my nf work? Thanx for the help! Irv

My H came with a Schwartz wide front. It uses the stock wheels and seems like a pretty durable unit.

You will want to be paying attention when you are turning over rough ground. The front wheels can go their own way and the spinning steering wheel can jamb your thumb hard enough to make you think that it is broken. You will also want to be moving when you try to turn it.

I heard the same thing from an old IH farmer friend. He said NEVER put your fingers inside the spokes of the settering wheel. Leave them on the outside. He saw my spinner and about freaked. I guess he had Hs in the past that seem to get away pretty quickly. I never had that problem on my Cs. I guess I will find out next spring.

Irv,

I just bought one. You have to use your old rims, tires, bearings, and seals.

I was told that the dust shields interchanged, but they wouldn't.

They seem okay; I rather buy a new one of these than an old junker for the same money out of a yard.
