Have a SM that makes according to the gauge 75# oil P when running. It blows oil out around the manifold gasket on #2 exhaust port. The tractor didnt smoke @ all until we ran it for some time. Now it smokes intermitently. Pulled off manifold and found oil all in the #2 exhaust valve. Im 99% sure that the rings in the cylinder are good but havent done a wet/dry comp check yet. I degreased the area and held the starter in for a while and built up around 40 #'s oil P. Oil was leaking down the valve stem from the head. Im leaning towards a bad valve guide but I could use a second opinion . Ive never seen a guide leak that much oil past if thats the case.

Well Jonesy I'd pull the plug out of that cylinder if it look the same as the others then sure nuff its a cracked or scored guide/valve stem. If it was rings it would foul the plug and smoke . John Good luck.
