i have a 1948 wd-9 with the engine stuck, I am going to build the engine but I want a little more power i will pull the tractor at antique pulls some. i have though about getting a engine out of a 600 but im not shure about the power there either thanks for any help

hey look under the farmall on tractor photos and type in farmall turbo and there is a "super mdta turbo" really a neat lookin machine. The hood did not fare too well but the tractor is really unique. U would have the only WD9 Turbo around probably could put out around 100 hp

I have seen at least 3 WD-9's here in North Dakota with turbos on them for pulling. They make a real nice sound with the turbo on them...

Why not just overhaul the D335 in your WD9 with oversize pistons & sleeves?? I have NOS 4.5" piston & sleeve sets available for the early and late D335...

You're WD 9 has a 335 cid engine, while the SWD 9 and up through the 650 has a 350 cid engine. You would gain HP, but loose origanality. My neighbor has an I 9 with a 350 in it and with plenty of ballast it will do a respectable pull.
