I intend to widen wheel base for cultivating by flipping rear wheels. The super A seems to be designed for this but does it cause stress on rear drive housings, and if so are there any tricks to minimizing the risks?

Mike: Your tractor is designed to adjustable in 4" increments from 40" to 68" tread centers. Just make sure when you do this you keep the heavy cast wheel center on the right hand side. It is designed to be there for balance of the offset design. One of the problems you may run into if your tracror hasn't been changed in years is front axle. A lot of people have found them stuck with rust.

I tried this with my 130 for awhile, In my opinion they aren't too bad up to 60" centers. At 64 and 68 I found the tractor to be quite cumbersome. I did run my tractor at 68" one summer, and did have some concerns about strength of final drives. I had broken a final drive years ago, but that was using ice type wheel chains pulling heavy loads. I also have some quite heavy equipment I use on 1 point fast hitch.
