W6 Magneto or coil ignition Question?

Well going thru a IHC parts manual I noticed tractors with serial numbers 501- 36780 were equiped with a H-4 magneto or similar. Tractors after that were battery ignition with a coil. Does this mean my 16234 serial W6 probally had the H4 mag originally and was converted battery ignition or could this be a purchased option ?

Your input please

Thanks Ed

your tractor came with a magneto when it was new. after #36780 a distributor was standard and the magneto was optional. the distributor was not available before this.

I kind of figured the tractor was upgraded somewhere in its life. Now if I can find a working H4 mag to put it back I'd be all set.

Thanks for your reply
