Going to buy a scrape blade tomorrow. I have a 47 M with a 3-pont hitch. Should I go with the 6ft or 7 ft? The width from center of tractor tire to center of tire is 6 ft. Not doing heavy work, just keeping up driveway, etc.
Thanks for the info in advance. Love reading the posts here

I have a 7 foot blade behind a super h with 3 Pt. works good. Not a heavy blade but super h will do all the blade can handle. I also have a 46 m with a loader on it and a blade i can put on front which is better in some ways because i can see without turning around to see what is going on. Do you have double action cylinders on your m? Sometimes good sometime bad.

We had an 8 ft. blade on my dads 'M' twenty years ago and it worked great. When we angled it,it was still wider than the tractor. Remember, only your first swath needs to be 8 ft. wide. John.

i have an at least 6" on my super c's front end. (its definately wider than the cars) It plows snow and grades the driveway, easy as pie. The only problem is that the blade's weight is the only downwards force. The chains can only lift.

So an M should do fine with something 7".

I have a 49 M with a 3 point and have a 7 foot blade on it . The 7 foot works great because it covers the tires. The only problem I have had, is one time it snaged the curb and bent the blade. I don't have a float on the 3 point and when the tractor droped of the end on the driveway, it put extra weight on the blade and when it hooked the edge of the curb something had to give. now i lift the blade when i get to the end of the drive

I'm thinking of putting a 3point on my H just for this purpose. You speak of "float". That is something that I would want. Is that taken care of in the hydraulic valves? Or am I wishing for something unattainable. Thanks

If you put a hyd, spool valve on you lift, you can get them with a floot. It allows the cylinders to move up and down with the ground. I got my valve from nothern Hyd. By ingaging my lift all all the time. I can control my front loader and 3 point at the same time. Works great and you can have down pressure if you want but I don't see the need for it. All the impliments are heavy enough to take them down fine.

I have a 46' M with 3point and 6' scrapper blade. It does not quite cover the tire tracks. In my opinion the blade should be atleast 6 inches wider on each side than the total width of the tractor. The 6 foot works ok, but i think a wider blade would do a much better job.if you have the extra $$$,i would go for the 7'....
