I have access to a freinds auto shop where I can grind valves and seats, but I don't know what the correct angles are. I'm working on models A, Super A, M, Super M, and a 300. I also need the gap for the intake and exhaust valves for the model M and Super M. Thanks for your time.

Glen

Usually there is a book that is put out by the manufacturer of the valve grinder that lists spec's and replacement seats and valve guides. Does your friend have one he's set back and forgot about? If not, look up the KO LEE website, and contact them. You may be able to get a book free, or at a nominal charge. There's an amazing amount of information there on cars, light trucks, trucks, construction, farm, and stationary equipment.

Of course, the I&T shop manual for any one of the machines you mention will have the valve specs for that unit.

Do the valves at a 44 degree angle, and the seats at 45.

I am fairly cetain that all of the older Farmalls used the same angles, actually, the book will most likely call for 45 degrees on both the valve and the seat, but most mechanics will grind the valves at 44, creating an interferance fit, which will seal better.
