Hello Randy, I appreciate your mail and confirmation to proceed on the transaction. And I am impressed by the prompt attention accorded the transaction considering the need for us to round up on time. My client has accepted to pay the stipulated price of $2000 since the condition is ok ,immediately with a cashier’s check, just that the check, is going to be in an amount larger than the cost for the Farmall 504. Reason being that it is a refund payment to my client and the Company issuing the check has the policy not to issue more than one check to a refund payment, which means that the check is going to carry the whole amount em-block for the sales and shipping of the for Farmall 504 ,from USA to South-Africa. The check that will be sent to you is $7,300.00 and you would have to deduct the cost for Farmall 504.. $2,000.00 from it immediately you cash it and send the balance $5,300.00 to my client s shipping agent via wire transfer (Western Union / MoneyGram) to offset the shipping charges. So he is entrusting you to handle his funds with honesty, care and utmost confidentiality. On receipt of your confirmation to proceed, the check will be sent to you. Provide Name to be on check, mailing address and your cell phone number, where the check will be sent. After you cash the check and send the balance, the shipper will be paid and they will come and pick up for Farmall 504 immediately.Ask questions where you are not cleared. I would be there to explain furtherYou can reach me via phone anytime on 011 234 8023600613. Looking forward to rounding up this transaction as soon as possible.
Thanks and have a wonderful week ahead.
Mr Reed Gare.

Not sure if this will have much effect, but here's a link to a website with lots of info about this scam.

Here in the US the secret service investigates this kind of thing. If you go to the link and scroll down, they have an email address where you can send the scammer's message. Maybe someone on the other end will read it and add it to the (mountains) of evidence against these guys.

Good Luck
Dave

Here's the best way to get these scammers to go away. All of us should go along with the scams. We should all send our $5,000 overseas to these people, plus our tractors, cars, trucks, boats, guitars, homes, etc. The scammers will become so quickly overwhelmed with their newly-acquired millions of dollars and merchandise that they won't need to scam anymore. They will be happy and so will we, right?

Randy: You have the wrong attitude in dealing with these guys. Gary and Chris have the right idea, play along with them. Sooner or later someone will beat these guys at their own game. Your harsh letter will run off these guys like water off a duck.

It quite frankly surprises me that warnings even have to be put out on this matter. I've had a bank account since I was about 7 years old. One thing I knew from the very beginning is if you are the seller in a transaction, your check book will not be needed. From what you guys describe happens in these transactions, if anyone has ever been suckered by this type of scam, there is not much a government or police agency can do to protect that guy. You have surely heard the saying," A fool and his money are soon parted."

I get that sh!t over and over every time I sell something. That crap gets old after a while. I decided to play along,I agreed to the scam and told them that I would do as asked. The bogus cashiers check never came.If it had I would have taken it to the bank manager and explained the whole deal,I would NOT have sent an item or forewarded any money until any check had cleared.

I got an email a couple of weeks ago...the ole scam about someone who had made millons from a gold mine, then he died and his poor widow had to get the money out of South Africa etc. etc.
I emailed them back and told them just to send cash in US dollars instead of a bank transfer as they suggested, and I'd be happy to take care of it for them, seeing how they knew I was such a trust worthy person and all.
I haven't heard anything in reply, so I guess the 21 million should arive any time. heh-heh
