Hello ,I fell in to a 350D utility diesel, it was free but had to have it shipped($900.00). Sounded like a good deal. Tractor looked decent, very little rust, brand new back tires. After asking you all a few qustions and changeing filters got it running, about 15 minutes later, bammm, theres a rod sticking thru the block rigth into the gas filter, I was shocked, couldnt belive this, I have no idea why this happened, it was full of oil and anti freeze, so can this be fixed, is it worth fixing or will this be worth anything to anybody the way it is, ok i have to go back to crying now,Thanks

I haven"t seen any follow-ups lately about your 350 diesel. I am just about done restoring a 350 diesel and may be interested in parts from yours if you are not going to pursue trying to fix it. By the way, continental D-193 parts are very hard to come by. Good luck.

I have a Continental G193, gas engine that will bolt right in, same block. Will give you a little more power than the IH 175

Your not alone. I was using my Farmall H last week and the rod bolt heads broke on the number 4 cylinder and let the rod go, and the crank slapped it through the side of the block. I was very shocked because the tractor had never knocked or showed any indications of problems and I had just driven it to where it was parked at a high idle when the rod suddenly let go, now I'd have thought it would have let go when I had the tractor at full throttle just a few minutes before, but instead it went at a lower RPM with no load on the engine. The engine had plenty of oil.
