This grader is a 4 wheel drive 4 wheel steer two axle 99H Austin Western, ser. # H1186. Its engine is a 4 cyl. gas over diesel very similar to a TD9 engine. I just got it and need to get it started and loaded to haul home. I hope to restore it and would appreciate any information that you people may know about it such as age, engine # or type, things to watch for, and so on. Have not begun to work on it so don't know what is ahead.
The circle is chained up so the blade is off the ground and I probably can pull it to start the diesel but would rather start it the right way. Thanks

The engine is a UD-14, similar to TD-14 crawler; if I don't have manuals, I know where you can get them. I'll dig through my manuals tomorrow. I have an austin-western similar to yours with a UD-16 IH engine in it.

Thanks a lot for the information. Mine may be older than your photo - at least a little different. That is good news I think, re the engine. The UD14 won't be too difficult to get parts for. I will be in the market for manuals and other information and no doubt a lot of parts. Things have been re worked over the years and I would like photos of a more original machine. The interior instrument panel is all cobbled. A photo of that would be great.I hope to get it home in a few weeks so I can see what I need to start with. thanks again

Matt - Does it look anything like the one in the photo? (punch below)

This one I'm pretty sure has a UD-14 gas start diesel - the same motor used in the TD-14 crawler.

Neat old machine!!
