Was an F-12 2.5" axles? Like H? Were round spoke wheels for rubber tires and flat spoke originally steel like Deere tractors? Sort of looking for a set of spoke wheels, but need more info. Answers?

Reguardless of what people say F12 wheels will not fit a H and vice versa. A H has 2.5in axels and a F12 has 25/8in axels. The flat spoke axels you see on a H were actually made for a H,There were actually 2 different flat spoke wheels offered with different hub designs. One of thoes hub designs were exactly like the F12 wheel except it had a 2.5in axel hole

The F12 axels are 2 and 5/8. Some of the old 40 inch wheels had round spokes, but more often than not you see flat spokes. I have a set of both steel wheels and wheels for rubber tires.

What are the Farmall H tractors I see with spokes on them? I was told an H axle is 2.5". Were the spoked ones steel once and converted? I really like the looks of those and am trying to find some with 38" rims. I don't mean to be ignorant, I'm just used to a different color.

When rubber became available after WW2, guys cut the outer steel ring off of those old steel wheels. They then welded a rim on those flat spoked centers and added rubber. The F12 rear wheel hubs are not as heavy as the H wheels. The F12 wheels will fit an H, but you need to torque them down hard. It was the same deal with the F12 steel rears. A lot of people cut them off after WW2 and added rims and rubber.
