I have a distillate manfold for a 39 H. The louver is stuck in the middle position. The grid shows one opening above and one position below. How were these adjusted. Will it work where is is stuck on gasoline? We are restoring the tractor and want to put back like it was origionally if we can.

I had the same problem with my '39 H. I never did get the shutter broken loose and finally just bought a new gas manifold.

The baffle should be in the cold position. I have gotten about 5 or 6 of these types of manifolds to work perfectly by soaking them in diesel, and removing them a few times a week and tapping the heat valve lever.

The cold position is with the lever in the down position.

nobody has used distilate for 50 years so i guess if it was running on gas before it ought to run again.
