Curious vibration

My '52 H developed a curious rpm-related vibration after a hard day of pushing snow around (following this winter's BIG storm in Nova Scotia)and I'm hoping forum members might help me pinpoint it. To be specific, the tractor starts fine, runs fine but at the about three quarter throttle, develops an intense rattle/vibration in its upper areas .. almost like the upper shroud is about to be launched. The odd part is that the vibration goes away at full throttle. Is the hrydraulic pump suspect? Too much or too little fluid in it? I added some on that day. Your help will be appreciated.

If your tractor has a belly pump, you might try removing the coupling that drives the hydraulic pump. It is easy to remove the coupling and you can then see if the vibration is still present or not. Hope this helps.

Bob,
Many thanks for the suggestion. I hope to try your suggestion in the early part of the week.
