I am going to be pulling the boster on my 39' M and have read how hard it can be to remove the radiator bolts. The question I have is can you remove the boster with the radiator attached?

Paul - You can easily remove the bolster with the radiator attached. Simply disconnect both rad hoses, disconnect the radiator stay rod and disconnect the steering shaft. Then unbolt the side rails and the whole bolster assembly can be slid forward and out.

You'll need some sort of crane or hoist to handle the bolster. The assembly with the wheels on weighs 600 lb or so.

Punch below for a photo as we reinstalled the bolster (with radiator attached) on a Super M.

there are no holes to get straight into the radiator bottom nuts on the bolster of the early m's. i always take the front end off with the radiator still on it. it is alot easier this way.

I wouldnt, might damage the rad.Ms are easy to get off,Hs are somewhat of a pain.On the M there are two holes in line with the two studs for the rad.Remove those, the hoses amd if yours has the round bar from the rad to the steering support, remove that. You CAN get the rad and shround around the fan but its tricky,so I always take the shroud off of the rad before pulling it out.I have goten "lucky" and both studs on the rad came so I didnt need to take the shroud off.Your results will vary!Good luck!
