Had new tires put on the rear of the 460 and notice that both rear rims wobble and hop; more on the outside edge than the inside edge. I notice the clamps are tightened unevenly. What is the proper way to tighten the clamps to get the rims to run true? About how much torque on the nuts? What would be reasonable run out on the rims? Right now wobble is in the 2" area and hop is about the same. Thanks for your help guys.

Dave jack up one wheel loosen all the clamps lay a 4 x 4 on the floor, then tighten clamp as you turn the wheel to check run out.Tighten clamps as to pull the wheel in line. Tighten them tight.

You will need to jack that tire off the ground, loosen all of the clamps, and then retighten each one a little at a time. Rotate the wheel as you do this, keeping the clamp you are tightening at the top. Try to maintain an even gap between the rim and the cast iron center. If this doesn't work, you may have a bent rim, or the new tire is not mounted correctly.
