BB, I have a 60 inch Woods L503 mower on my Farmall A. It has a lever to lift the mower. It is amazing how easy the lever is to lift the mower as it is kind of counterbalanced with a spring that is applying a lifting force on the mower. I have never lacked power even this spring with all the rain when the grass got our of control and I had to cut real tall grass. Roger

My A has a 5 foot ArtsWay. I own the tractor, but my Dad bought the deck and I think it was over $1600. Really like it. Not having hydraulics isn't much of a disadvantage really. I can use a pry bar to lift the front of the deck and shorten a chain to cut higher. I can work most all day and not have to wory about changing height because of the ground I cover. Your situation may vary of course.

I have an IH C3 on my A. If you're looking for a new one, check into the Woods L59. It's a better deck than the C3, but will probably set you back about $1500 for a new one.
