I have read about stuff to put on the sleeves in the 282d to take up the gaps between the sleeve and the block.Where can I get some?

I've heard that you can get sleeves for the 282 with a larger OD. Of course, this means you'll need to have the block bored out a little.

The last 2 D282's I did the sleeves were a press fit but Locktite makes a sleeve retaining compound there are a different kinds for the size of gap you have a local parts house should be able to help you with the Locktite

I would have a real problem using some kind of filler. If sleeves were a slop fit I would pull the engine and take it to a shop to have sleeves
fitted. I would have sleeves fabricated before I
would go to goop or filler. These are just my thoughts. Opinions may vary.

All the 282's I've been around fit loose even though they are supposed to be pressed to fit.Lots split the sleeve after a few hundred hours. I have read here about sleeve glue or something like that to fill in any low spots and keep them ffrom cracking, old timers call it sleeve pucky.
