Regulator Problems

I've had my 1950 Super H for about 20 years and it has been an awsome tractor for my needs. I've had a problem with the regulator not lasting, if I am lucky it will last a year then go to negative charge.

It's a 6 volt system, positive ground, generator works fine, new battery. It's all original and I am wondering what could cause this.

Also the small valve that controls the carb float must be worn out as it sticks, have cleaned it up a few times but was a pain dueing a storm last winter to keep it moving. Does thismetal valve come with a carb kit?

Thanks a bunch

Take the bad regulators to someone who
knows them inside and out to find out what
part of the regulator failed that will get you a starting point.

If you can find a rebuild kit for your tractor, it should have the float valve.
