does anybody know of a filter that will fit into my stock S/C air cleaner housing with some modifications to eliminate the oil bath but retain the stock look? Thanks

I was going to reply earlier. I do not see any advantage to converting to a paper filter.

If you still want to do this you need to take the oil bath cleaner apart. Don't throw any thing away, you will probably change your mind. Remove the wire mesh (circular shaped wire pads) stuffed up inside the filter.

Go to a motor cycle shop and see if one of their filters will fit snugly around the air inlet and still leave lots of room around the side.

I wouldn't do it. A pint of 30 wt. oil is much cheaper than a paper air filter.

Some differences in opinion (ok with me), but mine is there is no advantage to doing that. On some vehicles, when the paper filters came out, the oil bath was the "heavy duty" option. As to what is available, I can't answer your question.
