I never had a chance

I remember a discussion last Christmas about IH collectibles so I thought some of you might get a chuckle out of this. I am currently in my mid 30's. My parents are about to move out of the house the family grew up in, into something much smaller. As a result, all 3 kids have had to get all of their stuff out of the house. When I was a wee lad I had the biggest sandbox in the neighbourhood (we lived in Toronto so no farms anywhere around) and a big selection of sandbox toys to go with it. Years ago these toys got boxed up and thrown in the attic. Last weekend, in the process of emptying the attic, I came across all the toys and of course had to unpack them.

Lo and behold, I found my old tractor for my sandbox. It is a bright red International 1026 Hydro and a 4 bottom plow.

Now I know why I fell in love with my 350 Utility when I found it in the weeds 4 years ago. I was brainwashed at an early age. I NEVER HAD A CHANCE!!!!

On a good note, my little replica (about 8" long) was in perfect condition and is now sitting with its plow attached in a place of honor in my home office. It was so perfect that the wife didn't even mind me bringing an old toy into the house.

I think my next task will be to put it on the hood of the 350 and take a picture of the two of them together.

Hope you all get a smile out of this.

Thats cool!! Them toys would be worth some money, But i wouldnt sell them. One of my dads friends was biking past some cottages a few years ago in the park, by the road there was a laundry basket full of true scale toys. Disk tractor plow and other things. My dad said when he was a kid, he went to the allis dealer, they had a set, it had a wagon, disk, and i think it was a wd-45 or d19 allis tractor, he bought it for $19.50, we went to a toy show, they had the same set, in rough shape, $400.00. Have fun with your tractors.
