Can you guess what it is??

Well I think it is the distributor cam for my '54 300.

Cater & Gruenwald price $382.00. They couldn't beleive it either.

Part #355724 R91 (w/felt)

I suppose then the 300 is worth say... $250,000?
Any one find this part for less??

Thruster bearing for the H/M governor. I paid $65 five years ago. That part hardly weighs anything.

You must have been quoted the wrong price.. My latest price file lists the retail price of approx $120. I have a NOS distributor cam for the H that changes the timing for increased power (IH produced changeover kit), but I doubt it would work in the 300.

Luckily things are working fine without a new cam, be it $2 or $200. New high tension coil wire and new plugs and she purrs or roars...depending on what you like to do. I kind of like the 5th gear up a decent hill (decent for a flat land area any how) when the gov. opens her up.

Don't know about 300 but 400 cap is same as A, B, C, H and M and they can be had for a lot less even at dealer. At least mine is distribitor could have been changed though.

I have two here from cubs I am not exactly sure if there the same or not as far as 6vt 12vt deal. I sell them on ebay. That would be a good place to look. Also I have never installed electronic IGN But I sell them and that may fix your problem also becuase you do away with the points.Maybe some one else will step in and give us the answer. JON
