Hi guys, my son was driving my Farmall B yesterday, for a labor day parade here in colorado, and he looked down at the oil pressure, and the guage read zero. If the gauge isn't bad, what should I check?

I would not run it without oil pressure.

Disconnect the line at the gauge and just crank it over (without the plugs will make it easier), and see if you are getting oil squirting out. Next, have a look at the oil pump, then the bearings.

my guess would be the plate on the bottom of the oil pump as stated earlier...there are many posts here on the subject...get a new gasket at the case/ih dealer.....the bottom plates are prone to warpage on 113/123 engines, i've went though this on a C, i would assume the B is simular

Hi Martin, Remove the old gauge and install a new one or a gauge you know is working. If you still see no oil pressure, drop the pan and the pump. Check for blockage over the oil pump screen
and if that is clear set the pump in a pan with clean oil and see if it pumps oil when you spin
it. If it doesn't pump I would replace it. I would only run the engine at an idle to check that
gauge, you do not want to damage the bearings or
crankshaft. Good Luck, Hal

can we assume there is oil present!
faulty guage?
blockage in pipe?
Pump not pumping
Assuming there is oil take the taappet cover off & run the engine. Is oil coming up through the rocker arms? If so it might be the guage.

Pull the pan and oil pump. Check for warpage on the cover plate, and clearance. The spring can be replaced, that will help greatly. If those two items are covered, and still no oil pressure, then you'll need to get info from someone else, cuz I have no clue.
