Found a nice "All Fuel" W-4 for sale today. Good paint, good tinwork, has fenders, PTO and belt pulley drive (missing pulley). Tires weather cracked but a lot of life left. Original 6 volt system. And it's close enough to drive home. What's it's HP rating, what does it weigh and what"s it worth?

As you can see, I live in Ontario and I just picked up a 1950 W4 All Fuel with EXCELLENT tin, brand new tires, 6 volt original and all original headlights for $1000 Canadian (about $800 US)and it"s in perfect running order and has never spent a night outside. I figure that I got a good deal..it"ll make a good friend for my H . lol

No problem Terry. Once in a while I come across a good deal up here. Where are you in Ontario? I'm in Orillia 1/2 Hr north of Barrie.

Got to talk to the owner of the W-4 this morning. He "says" it's been gone all through and has less than 5 hours on a major overhaul. He wants $4,500 US for it. So...you either got a real good deal or this guy is a little high (I decided to pass). I'd rather have a H or M myself.

That's WAY TOO MUCH MONEY! You can often find one in the photo ads on this site for the $800-1,500 range US dollars.

I agree, it's way too much. It is a real nice little tractor but I think it's a situation where a guy put too much into it and is trying to recoup his investment. That's why he still has it. Thanks for responding to my questions.

I have a w-4 gas. I love it! I paid too much for it, and spent too much on it doing a re-build. Now I have to fix the axle seals and then paint. If you need any help I think I have fixed almost everything at least once. I would love to know what you pay for it, well maybe not. I would love to get an all fuel version!!

Good luck!

Bob

He's asking $4,500 for it. Said it's got less than 5 hours on a major overhaul. Hope this makes you feel good about what you paid for your gas version!

I grew up around "row crop" tractors like Oliver Super 66, John Deere "A" and "B", Farmall "C" and just like that style a little better. That W-4 was the first "Wheatland" style I ever considered. Nothing wrong with that type, it was just in the right location and looked good so I looked into it a little further. If it had been in the same price range as an "H" Farmall in like conditon I might have considered it as I did like the squattier look and it would fit in a regular 7 foot garage opening.

Factory rated horsepower is around 26, weight would be under 4,500 pounds. The value is up to you.
