Cleaning Farmall C Air Cleaner Assembly Question

I found that my entire air cleaner assembly needs to be cleaned. Do I use Kerosene, Diesel, or Gas? I need to fill up a five gallon bucket to completely submerse it. I run the tractor without the assembly attached and it purs. I put the assembly on it and it chokes out the engine.

Any ideas or helpful hints?

Thanks to all,

Scott

Kerosene. Just let is soak for several days. Jiggle it up and down ever so often.

Actually I use my parts cleaner. I let the fluid run through the air cleaner for several hours. Then let the air cleaner soak over night in the solvent, then more fluid running through it.

I use parts cleaner -- Used gas for darn near everything when I was kid -- One spark and I'd be a dead kid.

A five gal bucket of gas just for cleaning parts gets pretty pricey these days.

Use Gas it acts as a thiner. Just blow out real good with air hose before reinstalling .
