Does any one have some helpfull hints for sliding sleeves into the block without damaging the orings. I have a 1486 that has water in the oil, pulled the sleeves and 2 out of the 6 where bad, and from the looks of it the oring where rolled or cut when put in.

Bob is right, dishsoap. You should be able to push those sleeves in with hand pressure only. If not, there is something wrong with an O ring or somthing else and you need to determine what it is and correct it.

While you have it apart, was there any cavitation (small "pits" in either the sleeves or block where the O ring seals. This is a common problem with the "66" series tractors, and some of the "86" series tractors. If cavitation is serious enough, it needs to be taken corrected or you will still get water in the oil.
