I have a 1958 cub that is in need of new brakes. What kind of job is it to change brakes? Any special tools required? Any other parts that should be changed at the same time? Suggestions on where to get the new brakes? My local CASE dealers don't support the IH products (their loss).

A cherry picker to handle the weight of the final drives is a good idea.

Replacing the seals in the differential housing at the same time is a good idea, while you are there. These seals are often the reason for brake failure. The seals are often damaged because the finals are handled without a hoist.

You'll have to pull the final drive housings to change the brakes. No special tools, just time. Try Carter & Gruenewald for parts.
