The tractor will not run cranks but won't run. I check the compression and it appears to be ok. I lined up the opening of the points to coinside with spark plug number one. The rotor seems to be turning strangely (like it could be slipping). I also notice no fuel is getting to #1 and #3 spark plugs. They are dry and the others are wet. I got spark. Just keep turning like the timing is off.
Should the rotor be turning erratically as it does. It seems to line up on the #1 spot when I turn the motor over by hand. I could not get it to slip or move at all by manually trying to turn the rotor.

Try putting a teaspoon of gasoline in each spark plug hole and then try starting the engine.
If you have spark and compression then the only thing missing is fuel. Be sure the gas is fresh!

magneto? Yes, it is driven with an "impulse" that holds untill just at firing and then releases and flicks the mag a quick quarter turn.
