Some guys were making fun of my M with the wheels on backwards. So I turned them around and added wheel weights. I had to do the rear axel seals anyway. I went for the wider is better look. Next up is a narrow front end. third party image

Hey Richard, Nice lookin M and the foliage looks good in the Catskills, real pretty country! My grandparents had a small dairy farm just outside of Livingston Manor years ago, and I loved going over to visit! Thanks for the pics!

Nice M you got there. You should look at my M in the photo section of this forum, I have the wheels turned around, with 2 sets of weights on, it looks sweet. No one has made fun of mine yet.

I did see yours. It looks real narrow with the wheels dished in and then pushed in. Mine was dished in with them all the way out. Now I'm dished out and pushed out to the end of the axel. Boy is it wide. It's 88" center to center on the rear tires.

Say Richard,

Boy, I don't think I'd change a thing; dat's a nice lookin' old tractor you've got there!

But, I know what ya mean, those factory wide fronts don't turn so sharp.

Nice Tractor, (nice job on the HTML script too) :>)

That's the Catskill mountains in New York. The mountain your looking at is 3700 ft high. My property is at 1200 ft. I'm on the north eastern side of the mountains in a town called Acra.

I thought they looked familiar. I too am from NY and visit the Adirondacks and Catskills often. Doesn't get much better then that!

Why a Narrow front unless you live on flat land? If you do change and want to get ride of the wide front let me know and the price. Nice pictures.-Bill

The narrow front just always looked so much more tractory to me. Also the narrow front is so much more maneuverable, this wide front makes really wide turns. The other reason is that the wide front on the tractor is kind of messed up. One spindle is stripped. If I hit a big bump or hole it turns the wheel out! The other side has the spindle welded to the arm. The spindles are really worn. It also has one of the cast ears broken off underneath. I wouldn't sell it anyway. I'll keep it around. I figure it makes the tractor worth more having both front ends.

Thanks Ernie, but I already got myself the narrow front. I got the front end with hubs and bearings, which are different than the wide ones, off ebay. Then I had to get the rims to match the hubs. I think I have total $200.00 into the narrow front. The only thing I would like to get is new inner seals before I take the plunge and pull the front off.
