I dont know what it is with me and Carbs. I have tried to rebuild about 5 or 6 carbs before. Never had one work right when done.
Rebuilt this one and it still poured gas all over. I gave in and had NAPA order me a factory rebuilt carb. This one works good. 190 stinking dollars, but thats still cheaper than a new truck payment. :-)
I guess we will see how bad I can beat the crap out of this truck next summer hauling balers and hay racks 30 mi one way.
Oh some one asked me to post a photo of my new work dog.
Not to bad for a $500 truck.

I doubt you'd be able to break that if you tried really hard..... ..... You just can't beat an old pickup for work! Is this 4 spd or Auto? Keep that inside and maybe give her a paint job and it will last you a long time. I have found out that they really go down hill quick sitting outside..... .....The '72 C-20 Chevy I have was pretty nice when I got it, sat out a year since I was out of space and it really started to rust. Come spring I hope to fix those spots and repaint it as I got more storage now.

Looks great for $500. I can"t find any half as good for twice that price here in Missouri. What year is it? Grill looks like a 73-75. Dad has a "76 F150 he bought new his senior year in high school. He redid it about 10 years ago, really nice truck. Also have great-grandpa"s "73 F250, and a "75 F250 to haul hay with and has the cube feeder on it now.

that is a really clean 76 ford for 500 bucks, out here it would bring 1500 or more as a wood hauler, if somebody didn't restore it and keep it you did well in buying it, i had a '79 the same color with a flatbed, we took and overhauled the motor in it, one thing led to another , and we wound up sportin 502 cubic inches, with a cam and 4 barrel on it, it outran everything around here but the gas stations, i had to sell in in 95 as it just took too much gas, ericlb

This one had not been lic since 1997. Been sitting in his barn and not drove too much before that.
Find alot of stuff like this at the farm sales. This guy sold the old dariy and was moving to town.

It might not be appropiate to mention this here, but I do have a 1968 F-250 2 wheel drive that is looking for a new home. Definately a project truck, but could be on the road without too much work.

Looks great! I'd love to find a 4X4 from that vintage like that one to restore, a blue one like that with a 4-speed.

Brian, Where you at? Have a '77 4x4, 400 ci, 4 speed with 75000 original miles. Has body cancer but good glass, green not blue.

looks like a good old truck! we used to haul wagons with a '76 f250 2wd back when i was in high school. one problem that we had with ours was it was too light for a couple of hills that we had in the area. we had to load the rear end down so it wouldn't spin out half way up a hill. a later fix was a 4wd.
