Hi everybody, I rebuilt a super c a couple of years ago, and have had a constant problem with it surging/hunting. Today I adjusted the float in the carb and cleaned out the bumper spring adjustor on the gorvernor(full of crud). All of the other settings appeared to be correct When I started it it ran fine with no surging, but after shutting it off and starting it again it did it again, but only at half throttle or above.
Any suggestions?

Chris,
Did you adjust the governor stop? If you tighten it up, it should stop the surging. If you get it too tight it will idle too fast.

Good luck,
Bill

Quick fix is just add a spring to the carb throttle linkage.

Slop in the governor is your problem. Take the governor apart, change out the spring and check the entire linkage to ensure no slop. also check the weights are free but not sloppy.
