Anyone know how to (if it can be done) convert an H to live PTO?

What Hugh said is right. If you are thinking of changing the PTO assembly itself, you'd have to change out the entire transmission/rear end with one from a 300 or something with a LPTO. All the PTO components in an H are ultimately driven off of the transmission, which is disengaged when the clutch is disengaged. You'd have to find a way to get live power from something else because it's not in the tranny. Hope this helps.

Dachshund: It can't be done. M's could be equiped with M & W hand clutch which allowed you to stop in any gear, but not shift gears. I'm not sure they ever made the same for an H, it is possible, some other folks on here will know that. Remember however that is not live power, it just allows you to stop without disrupting pto power.

They were available for the H. I have one and have seen others. They probably outsold the M conversion because IH made more H's.
