Hi D.P.M., the 384 has a fuel/primer pump on the right side of the engine. This fuel pump has a diaphram in it and if a hole comes in the diaphram it will let Diesel fuel into the crankcase. A repair kit to replace the diaphram should be available at your local CIH dealer.

Good luck
