Can anyone identify the tractor in this photo? The owner claims it to be an International but I can't figure out for sure what it is. I haven’t seen it first hand yet.
Thanks
Tim

We had a 3444 Backhoe special that had the british diesel [black diamond] 154 engine in it with a 3141 hoe on it. This was on he!! of a powerfull tractor setup. It appears to be a 3444 which was a diesel or it could be a 3414 which was a gas tractor, both of these tractors had a manual[gear type] shuttle shifter for the foward and reverser, the newer ones had a hydraulic foward/reverse shifter. Some of the newest ones [late 70s] were hydrostatic drive as well. The instrument panel had a flip over cover to protect the gauges from vandilism. The thing that makes this tractor look so weird is its painted red when all of the industrial equipment was painted yellow. As far a the hoe, ours was a 3141 which had the control levers on the side of the seat, 3 on each side of the seat and the boom had a 16' reach. The 3121 hoe had a shorter reach but the controls and the rest of the hoe were the same on both models. The seat on the hoe was a flip over pan seat like a farmall A,B,etc. with a back support. It has the correct grill for a IH, but most of them had a weight bar that bolted on the lower radiator support casting on the front, with a rack of weights for counter balance. Alot of the newer ones after the 3444/3414 also had cabs and/or rops bar on them. hope this helps, Hal

I believe you are correct in a 3444. It is a diesel for sure and comparing it to a known 3444 picture on here, it looks like a match. Owner claimed it to be very powerful. It’s currently not running though. Not sure what’s up with it yet.
Thanks for all the help guys!
Tim

It's a International loader/backhoe-3818 or something like that.
